Rahul Singh Yadav completed his five-year BS–MS Dual Degree program in Chemistry in June 2021 from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali. During the first two years of the program, he received broad interdisciplinary training in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Earth Sciences. For his master’s research, he worked on the synthesis and self-assembly behavior of diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based discotic liquid crystals, materials with promising applications in organic semiconductors.
In November 2021, he joined the research group as a PhD student under the supervision of Jesús del Barrio Lasheras and Carlos Sánchez-Somolinos (AML Lab). His current research focuses on the development of multi-stimuli-responsive liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) actuators through 3D printing.
