Luis Oriol received his PhD (1990) in Chemistry from the University of Zaragoza, where he studied the synthesis, mesomorphic and physical properties of metallomesogenic polymers and polyazomethines under the supervision of Prof. J.L. Serrano. In 1991 he joined the Polythecnical School of Huesca (Univ. of Zaragoza). In 1993, he spent time at the Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven studying processing technologies for optoelectronic liquid crystals materials based on photopolymers. In 2000, he moved to the Faculty of Science of the University of Zaragoza. His current research interests are focused to the synthesis of new polymeric architectures by controlled radical polymerization, ROP and click chemistry strategies for preparing smart polymers and block copolymers of interest in nanoscience and nanomedicine. He is full professor of the University of Zaragoza and member of INMA (Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón, CSIC-UZ).
