Josefina Jiménez received her undergraduate education at the University of Zaragoza (Spain, 1982-1987) and obtained the PhD at the same University in 1992 under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Laguna and Mariano Laguna (“Synthesis and reactivity of polynuclear derivatives of gold”). Since 1991, she has been teaching with full responsibility in a significant number of different subjects attached to the area of Inorganic Chemistry at the Polytechnic School (Huesca) and the Faculty of Sciences (Zaragoza). She won a permanent position in Inorganic Chemistry in 1995. She has also participated actively in university management with the performance of several unipersonal positions, Deputy Director in the Polytechnic School and Associate Dean in the Faculty of Sciences. She has been a member of numerous academic commissions. Her research work focuses on the design of compounds with potential catalytic, optical or biomedical applications. Currently her main interest focuses on the design of oligomers, dendrimers or polymers based on phosphazenes with liquid crystalline, luminescent or biomedical properties.
