Joaquín Barberá is full professor in Organic Chemistry since 2012. He recieved his PhD from the University of Zaragoza in 1986 working on the synthesis of heterocyclic liquid crystals under the supervision of Profs. José Luis Serrano and Enrique Meléndez. He spent a post-doctoral period in the University of South-Paris with Prof. Anne-Marie Levelut investigating the mesomorphic structures of metallomesogens. He joined the Institute of Materials Science of Aragón (ICMA) and belongs to the Liquid Crystal and Polymer group. His research focuses on functional dendrimers and X-ray analysis of mesophases.
