Alex Lancelot obtained his doctorate in Organic chemistry from the Universidad de Zaragoza in 2017. His PhD work was focused on the design and synthesis of: (i) new dendritic structures with amphiphilic properties that can self-assemble in water to be used as drug delivery agents in the fight against cancer, hepatitis C and malaria, and (ii) novel polycationic dendrimers to be used in gene therapy. After his PhD, he joined Henkel company for 3 years to work within a research and development team studying new adhesives and bio-sourced coatings. In 2021, he moved to Purdue University (US) to study biomimetic polymers and their use as underwater adhesives. In 2023, he starts an international Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Global Fellowship, between Purdue University and the CLIP group to work on biomimetic hydrogels for biological adhesion and antibiotic drug delivery.
