Alex Lancelot obtained his doctorate in Organic chemistry from the Universidad de Zaragoza in 2017. His PhD work was focused on the design and synthesis of (i) new dendritic structures with amphiphilic properties that can self-assemble in water to be used as drug delivery agents in the fight against cancer, hepatitis C and malaria and (i) novel polycationic dendrimers to be used in gene therapy. After his PhD, he joined Henkel company for 3 years to work within a research and development team studying new adhesives and bio-sourced coatings. In 2021, he moved to Purdue University (US) to study biomimetic polymers and their use as underwater adhesives. In 2023, he starts an international Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Global Fellowship, between Purdue University and the Liquid Crystal and Polymers Group (CSIC) to work on biomimetic hydrogels for biological adhesion and antibiotic drug delivery
